Have you ever wondered if your cats’ personalities are linked to their coat color? If so, you’re in good company. Many cat lovers have pondered this, and have, by observation, attributed certain characteristics to cats according to the color of their coats.
A recent study done in 2015 determined that cats with calico and tortoiseshell coats may tend to have a bit more attitude than other cats. In the study, 1,200 cat owners were asked a variety of questions about their cats’ behavior via an online survey. The survey was structured in a way that didn’t reveal the focus of the study.
Researchers commented that the study results are not intended to warn people away from calico and tortoiseshell kitties, but to provide a little insight. They also point out that the results are still somewhat subjective because the researchers themselves didn’t observe the behavior of the cats.
